}} | occupation = Singer, Actor[3] | years_active = 2014{{ndash}}present[3] }} Courtney Ann Hadwin (born 6 July 2004) is a British singer, best known for competing on the ITV The Kids Voice (UK Series 1) and the thirteenth season of the NBC competition show America's Got Talent.[4]Early and Personal LifeHadwin was born to Ann-Marie and Paul Hadwin on 6 July 2004.[5] She resides in Hesleden, County Durham, with both parents, younger sister Melissa and younger brother Paul, and attended Hesleden Primary School.[6] She currently attends The Academy at Shotton Hall in Peterlee.[6] Hadwin has trained Shotton Hall Theatre School, Peanuts Master Classes, Kate Sirs School of Music[3] and Julie Miles' Vocal Ovation.[7] CareerEarly SingingIn April 2015 Hadwin auditioned for her first ever singing competition at TeenStar with her version of Adel’s “Make You Feel My Love” held in Newcastle England. Hadwin would continue through the competition making it to the grand final.[8] She also gained some notoriety when she was filmed performing Great Big World and Christina Aguilera’s soaring duet, "Say Something" in September 2015.[9]
2017 - The Voice Kids UKHadwin auditioned for The Voice Kids UK where she performed Tina Turner's "Nutbush City Limits" during her blind audition. She was picked by Judge Danny Jones who became her mentor on the show. During the battle road she performed "Dancing in the Street" against Eboni Green and Hollie Firmin.[13] For her semi-final performance she would perform James Brown's "I Got You (I Feel Good)". For her final performance on 16 July 2017, she performed torch song "And I Am Telling You I'm Not Going" from the Broadway musical Dreamgirls, before being eliminated as a finalist.[14] 2018 - America's Got TalentHadwin performed Otis Redding's "Hard to Handle" during her audition on the thirteenth season of America's Got Talent. Her audition earned her a golden buzzer from Howie Mandel which sent her straight to the live shows. Her audition video has accumulated more than 50 million views on AGT's YouTube channel in the first five months.[15][16] Hadwin returned for the quarter-finals on 14 August 2018, singing "Papa's Got a Brand New Bag" by James Brown. For her semi-final performance on 11 September, she performed "Born to Be Wild" by Steppenwolf before returning to the final show on 18 September, performing Tina Turner's "River Deep – Mountain High". During the results show on 19 September, she performed "Piece of My Heart" alongside rock band The Struts.
In December 2018 Hadwin signed a record deal with Syco Entertainment and Arista Records[18] 2019 - PresentAmerica's Got Talent | The ChampionsHadwin appeared as a contestant on the new reality television series America's Got Talent The Champions on NBC where she performed her first original "Pretty Little Thing". Hadwin was named as one of just fifty top contestants selected from all the Got Talent shows spanning 194 countries.[19] Awards and Competitions
