Creedon's Road Less Traveled is a television series produced by RTÉ and presented by John Creedon. The series consists of 3 episodes that showcase the "old roads" to Dublin that are now less frequented ever since the creation of certain motorways in Ireland. Creedon travels across these old routes in a vintage Ford Cortina that was once owned by former Taoiseach Jack Lynch.[1][2] It first aired on July 22nd, on RTÉ One.[1]

Episode list

Episode 1 - Cork to Dublin[3]

The first episode starts off with Creedon visiting the Army Reserve in Cork where he once trained himself.[4][5] He travels to Cahir in Tipperary to meet the comedy duo 'The 2 Johnnies'. Creedon then heads on to Thurles and meets Leo Moran of The Saw Doctors. He then visits Mondello Park for its 50th anniversary along with Rosemary Smith.[6]

Episode 2 - Dublin to Galway[7]

Creedon talks to Mick Foster of Foster & Allen about the history and relevance of handball in Ireland.[8] He then visits a decommissioned nuclear bunker in Athlone. He sings the famous song The Fields of Athenry with rugby player Mick Galway. Creedon also reminisces about when Johnny Cash, Status Quo, Meatloaf & Michael Jackson played concerts in Moate.

Episode 3 - Dublin to Belfast
