The Culture of Wisconsin is based primarily on its Native American roots, as well as from the cultures of the various ethnic groups that immigrated to Wisconsin, especially Germans, Poles, Scandinavians and others.

Wisconsinites are affectionately known as Cheeseheads, due in large part to the influence of the dairy industry and WI's overall dairy culture on the state.

Other well known foods and beverages in Wisconsin, most of which have some ethnic influence include Beer, Bratwursts, Cranberries, Kringle, Cherries (especially in Door County), Maple Syrup. Popular on Friday nights, especially in northeastern Wisconsin is the Friday Fish Fry, which many catholic communities in particular celebrate.

Wisconsin's warm-to-hot summers and freezing-cold winters make for a variety of outdoor activities throughout the season

Wisconsinites enjoy Canoeing, Kayaking, Road and Mountain biking throughout the Summer.

Although Wisconsin endures temperatures of down to -5 or more, people enjoy sledding, cross-country and downhill skiing, skating, pond hockey, ice fishing and snowmobiling.
