Cypress mountain is a mountain located in West Vancouver and is the location of the Cypress Mountain Ski Area, where several events from the 2010 winter olympics were held..[1]. The mountain is a part of the Cypress Provincial Park. Aside from the ski resort the mountain is also host to a network of mountain bike trails[2] as well as Mulgrave School near the base of the mountain. The mountain is accessed via the Trans Canada Highway, and the Cypress Bowl Road that traverses switchbacks up the mountain. There is also a service road colloquially known as the BLT that accesses the West side of the mountain[3].

The mountain has recently been a site for residential construction, with plans for expanding the lower section of the mountain to become Cypress Village[4]

The mountain bike trails on Cypress Mountain are known for being some of the steepest and most technical trails on the North Shore[2], but most have fallen into disrepair since their heyday in the early 2000s. A riding area on the East side of the mountain was the site for the first recorded use of a ladder-bridge on a mountain bike trail.
