Dancing Princesses is a constellation of practice[1] within UK further and adult education([ [FE]]), a shared vision which provides a rallying call for educators wanting to reimagine the status quo. The fairytale image of the Twelve Dancing Princesses is used to challenge the prevailing metaphor of FE as being education's 'Cinderella Service'[2], ie the poor relation of schools and universities [3]

Dancing Princesses is not an organisation, product, service or place, nor is it a person. It is a metaphorical gathering point, an idea around which educators can gather. Its rhizomatic non-structure reflects the work of Gilles Deleuze and Félix Guattari[4] and shares common ground with the Communities of Practice theory of Jean Lave and Etiénne Wenger[5].

This Wikipedia stub is intended as the starting point of a collaborative curation of the Dancing Princesses educational approach.
