Engineer Mahaman Laouan Gaya is a Petrochemical Engineer and the current Secretary-General of African Petroleum Producers’ Organization (APPO). He holds an MBA in Business Management (with optional courses on Finance and Accounting) and several certificates of specializations (Energy Planning, Energy Economics & Politics International Petroleum Management). From 2011 to 2013, he was Director-General of Hydrocarbons and then after Secretary General of the Ministry of Energy and Petroleum of Republic of Niger (2010-2011). Early life and careerMahaman Gaya is Nigerien (Republic of Niger). Married, Three (3) Children, he grew up in Niger where he got Military Training at Tondibiah Military Camp (NIGER) EducationMahaman Gaya's early life was characterized by a number of academic undertakings. He received his Military Training at Tondibiah Military Camp (NIGER) in 1976 - 1977 where he got his Military Training Certificate. In June 1984, he was given his Certificate of Russian Language along with his masters in Petrochemical Engineer (Master of Sciences in Engineering – June 1984).
