Based in the Oak Cliff area of Dallas, Tx where swimming is rare based on limited resources Carter High School is known mostly for their success in High School Football. Fast forward to four years later, Carter's High School swim team is now district champions for swimming led by their coach Mr. James Spencer. Still with their resources limited, Carter's swim team travel a few miles for practice at one of Dallas Independent School District's pool. David W Carter's most recent success was their trip to the State Championship Basketball game in 2018, that ended in defeat to their opponents from Houston. Most of Carter's swim team athletes did not know how to swim, prior to becoming members of the team, but with hard work and dedication they learned and now they are 15-5A District champions and are headed to the regional competition. This recent accomplishment for these boys is an amazing one, especially knowing that their opponents normally have the resources that Carter simply do not. Coming out of an area where the competitive nature is strong, it is safe to say David W. Carter could have the next Michael Phelps, look out Olympics here come those Carter Cowboys. References |
