Weis Early LifeFoster grew up as the youngest of six siblings in New Jersey. Throughout her high school years, she attended Paper Mill Playhouse Conservatory and won the coveted Rising Star Award.[2] She went on to play young Liza Minnelli in the off-Broadway play That’s Liza. CareerAfter her move to Los Angeles, Foster became an original member of The Pussycat Dolls, before moving onto the producing side of the entertainment industry. Foster acted in and produced the feature films IOWA, and the horror cult classic, The Orphan Killer. She also produced the documentary, Dying for Meth. She is also producing the upcoming feature film Before the Dawn.[3] IOWAFoster’s first feature film, as both lead actress and producer, was IOWA.[4] The film also stars Matt Farnsworth, Rosanna Arquette, John Savage and Michael T. IOWA went on to be released in theaters and was distributed worldwide by Koch Vision. The Village Voice praised the film's ‘energy and acting’,[7] and the Chicago Tribune noted Foster's screen presence. The film is a cautionary tale of love, crime, fantasy and addiction that follows two Iowan lovers who decide to go into the ‘batch’ business. After his father dies, Esper Harte learns that he may collect on his father's insurance. However, his mother and a crooked cop want to get rid of him so that they can take the money. Desperate to escape their problems, Esper and his girlfriend, Donna Huffman, decide to cook their own methamphetamine, only to watch it burn a searing hole in their lives. The film received negative reviews. Rotten Tomatoes reports 15% of surveyed critics liked it, with a 3.9/10 rating average out of 13 reviews.[8] Metacritic gave it a score of 35/100, indicating "generally unfavorable reviews".[9] Slant Magazine called the film "stupendously slipshod" and "meandering, amateurish sleaze",[10] while The New York Times criticized the lack of subtlety.[11] In a more positive review, The Village Voice praised the film's energy and acting.[12] Monsters and Critics said "This story and the characters in it are as real as the day is long and faithful to all that is good and bad about growing up with ever shrinking horizons."[13]Dying for MethDuring the making of IOWA, Foster spent five years investigating the methamphetamine epidemic in Middle America, which lead to the documentary Dying for Meth. The 43 minute film was nominated as in the best community service effort alongside major networks such as CBS and NBC at the Beverly Hills Based Prism Awards.[14] The Orphan KillerFoster also produced and starred in the 2011 horror cult classic The Orphan Killer. The merchandise for the film is sold in Walmart[15] and Sears. Foster has a massive cult following based on her outstanding performance in The Orphan Killer and is hailed by fans worldwide as "Baby Sister". The film also took the "Best Picture" award at Terror Molins De Rei Film Festival in Spain as well as being honored in the Brigadoon section of the Sitges Film Festival. The premiere of The Orphan Killer movie at the San Sebastian Horror and Sci-Fi film Festival in San Sebastian, Spain grabbed major media attention as The Orphan Killer movie was featured on the front page of the major newspapers in Spain. The film has grown to such a large status that the German Film board banned the film,[16] making it even more popular to horror fans. Festival Performance
