Provide sources from publications such as for example Rolling Stone, New York Times, Billboard Magazine (doesn't have to be per say but giving you an idea). More than in passing and independent of the album. JC7V (talk) 05:01, 14 November 2018 (UTC)}}

}}Discreet Repeat was the first solo compilation album released by singer/songwriter Ian Matthews.[1] The original vinyl double LP was issued in 1980 on the Rockburgh Records label (ROCD 109), and re-released in 1985 on Line Records in Germany (LIDLP 5.00003). It consisted of 27 tracks taken from Matthews' nine solo albums released in the 1970s and contained two of Matthews' three 1970s Billboard Hot 100 hits, covers of The Crystals song "Da Doo Ron Ron" and the Robert Palmer song "Gimme An Inch". Somewhat surprisingly Matthews' biggest 1970s hit, a cover of the Terence Boylan song "Shake It" was not included on the album.[2] [3][4]Discreet Repeat was reissued on CD in 1987 by Line Records in Germany (LIDLP 9.00560).[5]
