Doctorcall is a UK healthcare company founded in 1989. It is the largest urgent care provider in the private sector in the UK. It was founded as a home visiting medical service, but expanded into other sectors through organic growth and through the purchase of a number of doctors' practices and the companies Regents Park Clinic Ltd, SOS Doctors Direct Ltd, Dr Kelly & Associates PLC and Night Doctor Ltd. The core Doctorcall visiting doctor service provides 24/7 urgent GP home visits in Greater London and uses a network to provide nationwide coverage. The service has become technology driven, but from the starting point of an existing medical service. The result is instant ETA calculations, optimisation of physician availability and an Uber style system of back up doctors to deal with peaks and troughs in demand. There is a significant investment programme in place to develop the service over the next two years. Doctorcall also runs GP clinics, Lifestyle clinics and Occupational Health services.
