Bernard Lorenzo King Jr.[1] (Born 1993), professionally known as Double G, is an American singer, songwriter, and producer for Broadcast Music, Inc. In 2015 he produced "To The Top" for Top 100 billboard artist Coo Coo Cal. This collaboration put him on the map as a mainstream producer. In 2017 Double G released "Overtime" with Beeda Weeda, A Bay Area artist famous for his affiliations with E40,Mac Dre, and Too Short.

Early Life

Bernard King Jr was born and raised in Milwaukee, a small city outside of Chicago. King was raised with his family on Milwaukee's east and north sides. In Milwaukee King grew up in rough neighborhoods and attended public school in the metro area. He started making beats and recording his own songs at the age of 13 from home learning to mix, master and produce. He continued to work independently on his music until moving to Nashville in 2010. He was quickly discovered and signed by independent record label GHE at age 17. Double G later became popular for producing and collaborating with famous artists in the U.S

Discovery

In 2011 after Double G left his hometown of Milwaukee and moved to Nashville at age 17. He quickly became popular at school bringing in a new look, style, and sound of music to his peers. G was discovered and signed by local independent record label Go Hard Ent.(GHE) where he made his breakthrough as a lead artist of the label. The group released several popular underground songs and mixtapes becoming a local high school sensation. In 2012 the group released there first self promoted album “Born2Ride” This successfully gained the group local airplay, and a booked schedule of performances at some of Nashville's biggest venues. GHE continued to perform and tour the East Tennessee region, And gain popularity until the group separated in late 2015 and Double G became a solo artist.[2]

Career

Double G first gained recognition in the music industry after producing "To The Top" by Top 100 billboard artist Coo Coo Cal, who is famous for his 2001 single My Projects[3]. This Collaboration gained him exposure in the industry as a producer. Double G also gained popularity for his for Song "Overtime" with Bay area artist Beeda Weeda, a west coast rapper affiliated with Too Short, E-40, And Mac Dre.[4]. This Collaboration gained him exposure to industry connections and artists in California's music scene. [5]
