IntroductionDr.Gongura Venkateshwarlu also known as Dr.GV is Indian politician and doctor from the town of Khammam. Born on 10th February 1969, in a financially underprivileged family he studied MBBS , MD and later went to Harvard Medical School to get trained in Emergency Medicine.He is the founder and Managing director of Sri Raksha Hospital,Khammam and also the CEO of healthcare startup [https://www.wetreat.in WeTreat] Early LifeDr.Gongura Venkateshwarlu was born on 10th February 1969 in Bonakal to Kotiah Konda and Susheela. He was the eldest and has 2 brothers and 2 sisters. Growing up in a financially underprivileged family, he had to work hard in getting an education to fulfill his dreams. of becoming a doctor.As a student at Guntur Medical college,he was very active in social and political events which in turn attracted him to join politics. EducationHe completed his schooling in Bonakal and he later joined Guntur Medical College where he completed his M.B.B.S. After working for several years as a resident he went to Harvard Medical School to get trained in emergency medicine seeing a need for it in his hometown. He has a M.D in emergency medicine and he was a trained anaesthetist. CareerAfter returning from Boston, he started his own practice and established Sri Raksha Hospital in Khammam. He also started his own digital healthcare startup WeTreat in 2017 to provide affordable and innovative healthcare to the public. The startup is based out of Hyderabad and is still in its initial stage of design and was expected to be launched in March 2019. Political CareerBeing active in politics from the early days of his college education motivated him to enter politics. He was an active social worker and conducted many political activities representing various interests.He joined Loksatta Party in 2013 and acted as its president for Khammam region. He actively participated in 2014 elections promoting Loksatta party in Khammam. He resigned his post and joined Bhartiya Janata Party in 2018 and he is rumored to be contesting as M.L.A from Khammam representing BJP. Personal LifeHe was married and has two daughters Other WorkDr.Gv was a active participant in social work,though his work was mostly confined to Khammam,he was board member for several reputed charity organizations.He contributes to charity work through his organization Sri Raksha.His organization focuses mostly woman empowerment,child education and affordable healthcare.The organization routinely conducts medical camps and provides free healthcare services to the less fortunate.
