Franchise HistoryThe team was founded on April 1st, 2019 after a bankruptcy forced their previous team the Jacksonville Jaguars to relocate to Dublin, Ireland. A controversy was involved as the National Football League Players Association was concerned about the players on the Jacksonville Jaguars and players from the 2019 NFL Draft not being able to move to Dublin with so little time to prepare. The National Football League Players Association decided to not let the Dublin Shamrocks make a selection in the 2019 NFL Draft and let any current player of the Dublin Shamrock opt out of their contract with the team. This resulted in all 53 players on the team opting out of their respective contracts. This forced the Dublin Shamrocks to seek players in free agency and struggled to fill their 53 man roster up until the 2019 NFL Preseason. The 53 players who ended up signing with the Dublin Shamrocks to be nicknamed "The Rejects". The Dublin Shamrocks play their home games in Shamrock Stadium.
