BackgroundEileen Gu (Born September 3, 2003, in San Francisco, Californina) is an American-born, half Chinese Professional Freestyle skier specializing in halfpipe and slopestyle disciplines. She practices in Lake Tahoe, California, and competes internationally for the US ski team. CareerGu became 2017 and 2018 American champion in the halfpipe and slopestyle. In the 2017/18 season, she won in the halfpipe at the US Revolution Tour in Park City and won the third place in the halfpipe at the Aspen Snowmass Freeskiing Open. At the Junior World Championships 2018 in Cardrona , she came in the halfpipe and slopestyle in each case to fifth place. Her debut in the World Cup she had in November 2018 in Stubai , which she finished in 11th place in the slopestyle. In the following World Cup she took second place in Slopestyle in Font Romeu and got her first World Cup victory in slopestyle on the Alpe di Siusi . As of February 2018, Eileen Gu holds the #1 FIS World Cup Ranking for Women's slopestyle.
