She is a graduate of Pine Creek High School in Colorado Springs, CO. During her time at Berklee College of Music, Earle interned at Warner Music in New York and earned money by busking in the subway.[5] Season 3 of The VoiceEmily Earle debuted on Episode 5 (airing Tuesday, September 18, 2012) of The Voice singing the Johnny Cash hit "Ring of Fire". CeeLo Green was the only judge to turn around and she subsequently joined his team. She would be eliminated on episode 13 in a "battle" with MacKenzie Bourg performing the song "Good Time". Season 3 would go on to be won by Cassadee Pope who remains a friend and frequent collaborator of Earle's.[6] 2015-PresentOn September 9, 2015, Earle debuted her first single "Red Rose" on the website PopMatters, who described it as "less rugged-sounding [than] her male relatives, Emily's approach is a warm blend of mainstream country and Americana."[7] Earle cowrote the song "News From Colorado" with Allison Moorer and her uncle and was released on his 2017 album [https://www.allmusic.com/album/so-you-wannabe-an-outlaw-mw0003047610 So You Wannabe an Outlaw]. Rolling Stone called the song "tender" and highlighted it as only one of the two tracks on the record of which Steve Earle was not the sole author.[8] Paste Magazine said the song was akin to "listening to echoes of Townes Van Zandt’s folkie picking."[9] And the Irish Times called it "full-on lachrymose."[10] PopMatters wrote, "Songs like the superlative “News from Colorado” manage to reconcile his work of the last several decades with his early country persona, all keening steel guitars, mournful fiddles and purposeful acoustic guitar picking. Always an excellent storyteller, here Earle again creates a series of short stories and character studies in miniature, imbuing his characters with the classic country afflictions of heartache, loneliness, and regret."[11] Her debut EP was produced by Keith Gattis and featured appearances by Ashley Monroe, Angaleena Presley, Sarah Buxton, Steve Earle and Audley Freed.[12] In 2016, Earle appeared as a guest vocalist on Erik Dylan's album Heart of a Flatland Boy for the song "Pink Flamingos."[13] She has cited Kacey Musgraves, Gillian Welch, and Brandi Carlile as a few of her musical influences.[14] References1. ^{{cite web|title=The Voice (U.S. season 3)|url=https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Voice_(U.S._season_3)#Teams|website=Wikipedia|accessdate=15 February 2018}} 2. ^{{cite web|last1=Earle|first1=Emily|title=Biography|url=https://www.emilyearle.com/|website=Emily Earle Official Website|accessdate=15 February 2018}} 3. ^{{cite web|last1=Forman|first1=Bill|title=Emily Earle's Nashville byline|url=https://www.csindy.com/coloradosprings/emily-earles-nashville-byline/Content?oid=2690077|website=Colorado Springs Independent|publisher=Colorado Springs Independent|accessdate=15 February 2018}} 4. ^{{cite web|last1=Ritchie|first1=John|title=Emily Earle (Steve Earle’s Niece) Joins Team CeeLo On The Voice|url=http://americansongwriter.com/2012/09/steve-earles-niece-emily-earle-joins-team-ceelo-on-the-voice/|website=American Songwriter|accessdate=15 February 2018}} 5. ^{{cite web|last1=Forman|first1=Bill|title=Emily Earle's Nashville byline|url=https://www.csindy.com/coloradosprings/emily-earles-nashville-byline/Content?oid=2690077|website=Colorado Springs Independent|publisher=Colorado Springs Independent|accessdate=15 February 2018}} 6. ^{{cite web|title=The Voice (U.S. season 3)|url=https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Voice_(U.S._season_3)#Teams|website=Wikipedia|publisher=Wikipedia|accessdate=17 February 2018}} 7. ^{{cite web|last1=Begrand|first1=Adrien|title=Emily Earle - "Red Rose" (audio) (premiere)|url=https://www.popmatters.com/emily-earle-red-rose-audio-premiere-2495489176.html|website=PopMatters|publisher=PopMatters|accessdate=16 February 2018}} 8. ^{{cite web|last1=Betts|first1=Stephen L.|title=Hear Miranda Lambert, Steve Earle's New Duet 'This Is How It Ends'|url=https://www.rollingstone.com/country/news/steve-earles-duet-with-miranda-lambert-hear-how-it-ends-w488664|website=Rolling Stone|publisher=Rolling Stone|accessdate=16 February 2018}} 9. ^{{cite web|last1=Gleason|first1=Holly|title=Steve Earle & The Dukes: So You Wannabe An Outlaw Review|url=https://www.pastemagazine.com/articles/2017/06/steve-earle-the-dukes-so-you-wannabe-an-outlaw-rev.html|website=Paste Magazine|publisher=Paste Media Group|accessdate=16 February 2018}} 10. ^{{cite web|last1=Breen|first1=Joe|title=Steve Earle: So You Wannabe An Outlaw – Lachrymose veteran as good as ever|url=https://www.irishtimes.com/culture/music/album-reviews/steve-earle-so-you-wannabe-an-outlaw-lachrymose-veteran-as-good-as-ever-1.3112694|website=Irish Times|publisher=The Irish Times|accessdate=16 February 2018}} 11. ^{{cite web|last1=Paul|first1=John|title=Steve Earle: So You Want to Be an Outlaw|url=https://www.popmatters.com/steve-earle-so-you-want-to-be-an-outlaw-2495387815.html|website=PopMatters|publisher=PopMatters|accessdate=16 February 2018}} 12. ^{{cite web|title=Emily Earle Official Website|url=http://www.emilyearle.com|accessdate=16 February 2018}} 13. ^{{cite web|last1=Dylan|first1=Erik|title=Heart of a Flatland Boy|url=https://open.spotify.com/album/44T86ip0c1A8RIgBA9G9tN|website=Spotify|accessdate=21 February 2018}} 14. ^{{cite web|last1=Forman|first1=Bill|title=Emily Earle's Nashville byline|url=https://www.csindy.com/coloradosprings/emily-earles-nashville-byline/Content?oid=2690077|website=Colorado Springs Independent|publisher=Colorado Springs Independent|accessdate=15 February 2018}} External links
