Emotional Attunement is a term neuroscientists such as Daniel J. Siegel and Alan Schore use to describe the process by which human beings experience interpersonal connection and empathy. The concept of emotional attunement has been long recognized as a factor in satisfying interpersonal relationships..[1][2][3] With the development of fMRI technology, researchers have recently arrived at new understandings of the way in which emotional attunement functions in the brain.[4]

Psychiatrist and neuroscientist Daniel Siegel describes the process of emotional attunement as "right brain-to-right brain" resonance between two individuals, which promotes relational connection and empathy. This is a core concept in [https://www.drdansiegel.com/about/interpersonal_neurobiology/ interpersonal neurobiology] [5]

Emotional attunement is a focus of the study of attachment[6] and the impact of parent-child relationships on the developing brain[7]. Emotion informs the rational mind, and in turn, the rational mind informs human emotional experience[8]
