Escape from High Doom is a type of adventure book written by the author Hilary Milton[1] where the reader is called to read a section of the book and then is offered a choice of options for how he wishes to proceed turning to a different page in the book depending on the choice made. As such, in common with other gamebooks of its era, Escape from High Doom proceeded in a non-sequential manner with the reader ultimately determining how the story would unfold. Themed around a ghost town in the American Wild West, Escape from High Doom included several well-known characters from the era including Billy the Kid, and Jesse James.
