Eugene Yue-Hin Chan is a senior lecturer in marketing at the Monash Business School, Monash University. He is an expert on consumer behaviour and was award the Emerging Researcher Award in 2018 by the Australian & New Zealand Marketing Academy. His research has been covered in the Wall Street Journal, Men's Health, Boston Globe, Pacific Standard, New Scientist, and Sydney Morning Herald, among many other media outlets. He received his Ph.D. in marketing from the University of Toronto (2014), M.A. in social psychology from the University of Chicago (2007), and his A.B. in honours psychology from the University of Michigan (2006). His research has shown that people low on social class are more likely to eat meat and more willing to exert the effort to acquire meet. His other research on food sustainability focuses on mindfulness and how it may actually worsen attitudes toward eating insects by exaggerating the emotion of disgust. His research on food sustainability is recognized in the Oceania area, and he frequently consults for governments and both for-profit and non-profit organizations. References |
