}}Event Tickets Center (founded in 2005) is a private, for-profit online resale marketplace for event tickets based in Gainesville, Florida after relocating from Orlando in October 2017. Its headquarters are based in the historic Firestone Building downtown.[1]

History

Event Tickets Center was founded in 2005 by CEO Adam Young with a $100 investment. Young started out as an accountant in the manufacturing industry before switching careers in 2003, applying his knowledge of logistics and his experience in manufacturing to the online industry. He became familiar with the emerging e-commerce field and[2] founded Event Tickets Center,[3] headquartered in Orlando, Florida. Young formed a partnership with Bing Ads, becoming an early member of the Bing Network Product Advisory Group which allowed the company to work directly with Microsoft engineers.[4]

Event Tickets Center’s website offers tickets from a range of categories such as professional and collegiate sports, theater and Broadway shows, and concerts. Visitors to the site can search for tickets to an event based on such categories, including venue name, and pick out seats using an interactive map. The website also has a blog that was implemented in 2016 to keep visitors informed on the latest industry news, such as artist tour announcements and sports games. Event Tickets Center operates under a secure online platform for consumers on a national level.[5]

Event Tickets Center sought to get ahead of the mobile trend and turned to the Accelerated Mobile Pages Project (AMP) in 2016.[6] Google reports that AMP pages typically have little to no loading time and use 10 times less data than non-AMP pages. The program maintains the flexibility to customize and experiment with optimized web components, such as CSS, data and A/B testing.[7][8]

Event Tickets Center became one of the first e-commerce websites to implement AMP on a non-media content site, beginning development during the first quarter of 2016. Shortly after, Event Tickets Center was contacted by the AMP team and was asked to provide insight on how companies can integrate the program on their properties.[9] As a result, Event Tickets Center was featured in a case study by the AMP team and was referenced during the Google Marketing Next 2017 keynote, which focused heavily on AMP.[10]

Since 2016, Event Tickets Center has joined companies like Ticketmaster and Allianz in sponsoring the Ticket Summit networking event presented by TicketNetwork.[11] A number of top-level employees from Event Tickets Center -- including Young -- have spoken at the conference, which is held annually in Las Vegas, Nevada. Event Tickets Center has been attending Ticket Summit for the past 11 years.[12] [13]
