Exsite Webware runs on a Linux-Apache-MySQL-Perl (LAMP) web server, allowing any number of domains, sites, applications, databases, and users to share the same system without interference. At the local level, Exsite Webware is administered from either a Windows or Linux terminal. It supports standard web technologies. Exsite Webware is able to quickly extract elements from existing websites in order facilitate child templates for new websites. Exsite Webware is dual-licensed: a fully supported commercial version can be licensed from Exware Solutions, while a free open source software (FOSS) GPL version is also available.[2] Exsite Webware, now at release v3.8.3, was first released in 2004, and it is continuously updated by the developers. Exsite Webware is licensed under the GPL, and is written in the PERL programming language and can use the MySQL or PostgreSQL database. A beta release of Exsite Webware 4.0 is now in limited release.
