Faryal Mahkdoom (Born July 27 1991) is a Pakistani American born in Brooklyn, New York. She is most known for being the spouse of Amir Khan, a silver olympic medalist in Boxing and two time welterweight winner. Early Life and Education

Faryal grew up in New York with her mother Zia and father Shaukatattended Mahkdoom.[1][2] She attended Rutgers University School of Arts & Sciences. She graduated with a double major in political science and journalism.[2]

Career

On November 23, 2016, The FMK make-up shop run by Faryal was announced to be a business that would open alongside a banqueting hall.[3] This was all part of Amir Khan's "Make Bolton Better" initiative.[3] In conjuction with her shop, Faryal also launched her make-up range Faryal Cosmetics in 2016. The range consists of an eye shadow palette and foundations and lipsticks in various shades. In an interview, Faryal says her goal is to eventually have her own shop in London with her cosmetics.[4]

Faryal also works as a model and one of her most well-known collaborations have been with Pepe Jeans Pakistan in 2016 to create the “Break Your Jeans” campaign.[5] Pepe Jeans is an international brand originally from London that has become a very popular brand in Pakistan since it was introduced in the country. Other people that have been involved in collaborations have been big Pakistani celebrities such as Ayesha Omar, Sikander Rizvi and Mahira Khan.[5]

Mahkdoom has also participated in various bridal photoshoots with deisgners such as Shaneeq Bridal and Jewels by Nazish.[6] She also made her debut on the catwalk in 2016 at the Asiana Bridal Shoot in Birmingham.[7][8]

Personal Life

After university, she met Olympic silver medallist, and former welterweight champion Amir Khan whom she got engaged to in 2011. Around a thousand friends and family were in attendance, including boxer Ricky Hatton.[9] The two got married in 2013 at the Waldorf Astoria in Faryal's hometown of New York.[4] The couple then flew back to Khan's hometown of Bolton where a second celebration, a traditional Walima, took place in Manchester, which included 4,000 guests.[10]

On 4 August 2017, Her husband Amir announced that he and Faryal had agreed to split.[11] In November 2017, photos emerged of Khan and his wife together. Khan later stated that he and his wife had reconciled.[12][13]

They currently have two children together, Lamaisha and Alayna. Their first daughter, Lamaisah, was born on 23 May 2014.[14] On 24 April 2018, Faryal and her husband welcomed a second daughter, Alayna Khan.[15]
