Fate Of Music is Joe Kirby. An American born singer producer and songwriter and multi instrumentalist. He started Singing at age 13, performing On stage professionally at age 15 in night clubs, writing original songs and performing with various bands he started building his songwriting core. At age 17 Joe sought out recording studio internships. During this time he was relentlessly performing shows to perfect his stage craft. The combination of constant practicing, writing or playing live music shows, while running live sound for bands and festivals fueled the desire to keep moving foreword musically. This live-breath-eat-music style approach succeeded with access to higher end studio internship sessions and shows. He was able to see how a song should come together as a finished radio ready product. These experiences ignited his desire for a new freestyle form of songwriting and album production, all of which helped to create a solid foundation as a young artist. The most notable band during this time was Jokin Gamut who played consistent sold out shows from 1996-1999 releasing an independent self titled debut album Jokin Gamut gaining radio play 107.9 The End in addition to and various college radio stations as well as the Cleveland Magazine raving review of the album in1998 and dubbed the band “The new Cleveland sound”. Early Influences

His biological father Anthony Ray Kirby was a from St. Augustine Floria giving horse back rides on the beach as a tour guide. He later move to Cleveland Ohio and became a member of the hells angels during the hippie movement that swept the nation in the 60’s and was tragically shot in the chest in a bar fight in a local dive bar called the stubborn mule in Cleveland Ohio. This was a regular theme of the his early childhood fabric. His mother remarried to a music sound-man who had deep tied to the music industry. From as early as Joe can remember his very first memories are those of music playing with visitors on his 2nd floor home. He was inundated with endless buffet of albums to choose from and soaking into his young mind. His 2nd father was a front of house sound-man at the Cleveland Agora as well as other live venues in the 60’s and 70’s. His father was offered opportunities to tour as a sound-man for Deep Purple, Kiss and the Average White Band to name a few. Fearing negative effects for his 2 sons and wife as a new family unit, he declined, but the effect remained with Joe. Musicians frequented his childhood home and his father hosted live Bluegrass bands that played in his childhood home. His older sibling & older friends were listening to everything that was available on the radio at the time on their father’s custom engineered speakers and sound system which was the highest fidelity system available at the time, earning a write up in sound in Sound On Sound Magazine. It’s easy to say Joe didn’t have a chance to avoid his musical destiny. At age 15 his focus was on music, his mother told him music was forbidden as his grades were failing. In a rebellious act he left home to Jacksonville Florida, a few miles away from his biological father’s home in town in Saint Augustine. There he attempted to get involved with the local music scene while his local band patiently waited and cancelled shows until he finally made an agreement to continue doing music at his home town despite his non-interest in scholastic activities, this time with his mothers blessing. During this time he began to be influence by the early HipHop & Grunge movement of the 1990s. Additionally, some of his vocal influences he was channeling at the time were such artists as; Marvin Gaye, Prince, Steve Perry, Keith Sweat, Crosby Stills & Nash, The Eagles, The Black Crowes, Tom Petty, Lenny Kravitz, Bob Marley and Black Sabbath to name a few. Clearly there was no avoiding the music business. Friends began pushing him to sing in the early days when he lacked confidence. As he began performing it became clear this was something that came naturally to him and he learned quickly with the aid of other professional working musicians from Los Angeles, (Shawn Howard) who recorded on Steve Miller bands first album (without credits) and attended High School with members of Pink Floyd in San Francisco. Shawn loaned him sound equipment, along with advice from a life time of professional-stage performances that he passed on and mentored Joe in the early critical stages which drove him to pursue music full-time and insisted that Joe should stop playing in cover bands. During this time, his 2nd father was in prison for the better half of his child hood and was then released when Joe was age 21. When his father returned from prison he found a fully formed musician son and even helped to run sound for his music festivals for Joe’s 2nd all original band Jokin Gamut to bring the music story full circle. A few years later his second father died of cancer but not before seeing Joe at his best, playing out to sold out shows in the Cleveland area with a strong local following. Joking Gamut received write up’s ups in the local Cleveland scene magazine as well as local Radio play and College radio stations as well. This is an artist that clearly had a long time in the music industry very early on. In 2009 he made connections with A&R representatives who taught him what he needed to do in order to gain label attention and how to become marketable as an artist for main stream appeal. This was during the same time and the same A&R connections that brought attention to MGK, a local Cleveland up and coming rapper success and fame, however his 3rd Band Trust Of One and the their promising single fell apart as well as the A&R relationship in 2011. With advice and lessons learned in 2011 he finally branched off as a solo artist Fate Of Music and released a single in 2013, and in 2014 and finally, his full length freshman album Collage to critical acclaim and wide audience acceptance. Joe then spent time in Los Angeles with the local music scene there and after returning to his hometown, he declined an offer to join a local metal act tour in Europe to focus on his on his 2nd album Pyschopomp a 7 track Concept Album with a stripped-down production style, focusing on music composition and storytelling, a throwback back to his early influences. Fate Of Music‘s third album will be the culmination of a lifetime of musical experiences and influences. Keep an eye out for another release in 2019 perhaps in the local nashville area and or other music mecca towns in the United States.
