Federation Day is a day in the fictional Star Trek universe that celebrates the founding of the United Federation of Planets (UFP). The UFP was founded on 12th October, 2161 by five species: Humans from the planet Earth, Vulcans from the planet Vulcan (usually held by non-canonical sources to be located in the star system 40 Eridani, Andorians from the planet Andoria (sometimes referred to an Andor) (usually held by non-canonical sources to orbit the star Procyon in the Canis Minor constellation, Tellarites from the planet Tellar Prime (usually held by non-canonical sources to be located in the star system 61 Cygni, and Alpha Centurians from a planet orbiting Proxima Centauri in the Alpha Centauri star system (the species was the result of interbreeding between Humans and the Alpha Centauri indigenous population). The holiday is celebrated through the United Federation of Planets as a symbol of all the Federation has achieved through peaceful exploration and diplomatic processes A version of the card game Poker called "Federation Day" was developed at some point where 2's, aces, and 6's were wild.
