Fedrik De Beul is a Belgian director born in Alost in 1976 BiographyAfter completing language and literature studies, Fedrik De Beul graduated from the INSAS (Institut National Supérieur des Arts du Spectacle in Brussels, Belgium) in 2003. He began his career in the world of cinema by being first a production assistant, then production manager on several documentaries of the production company Periscope Productions. He began writing and directing short fiction in 2006 with the film "Kong aan Zee".[1], which tells the story of the North Sea's golden age, when different social realities confronted each other. "Kong aan zee" won the Grand Prix National and Best Actress Award at the Brussels Short Film Festival in 2007. Août 1914, a period film on the beginning of the First World War came out in 2014[2]. Following this film, in 2015, he became a guest lecturer on "The First World War and Cinema" at Cinematek, the Royal Cinematheque of Belgium. In 2019, Août 1914 was included in the Francophonies programme: events organized by Belgian embassies and delegations around the world between January and May. In 2017 he co- wroted and co-directed the short tragicomedy May Day,with Olivier Magis. May Day was shortlisted for the Oscars in 2019[3][4][5] In addition to being a filmmaker, Fedrik De Beul has also been a job coach and language teacher since 2006 and has developed a new learning method. In 2019, he created a start-up to develop this method in the form of a mobile language learning application. Filmography
