Fizz Mobile is a new subsidiary company created by Vidéotron which focuses on being, "Surprisingly Fun", and markets itself as "a brand new mobile provider". [1] Fizz Mobile operates in both Québec and Ontario however, other coverage areas are covered by partner networks. Fizz Mobile does not sell its own pre-set plans but rather lets interested-users to pick their own cell-phone plans using their plan-creator. In addition, Fizz Mobile states that it is very different from the other competition because it lets users get more out of what they are paying for. Plan DetailsWithin the plan-creator, users can "build" their own mobile phone plans by choosing what they want and what they do not want. Users can select the amount of data, voice minutes and SMS texts included in their monthly reset plans. Fizz Mobile offers a maximum of 20 GB of mobile data bandwidth a month and none or unlimited voice minutes and SMS texts. When users select data on their Fizz Mobile plans, they will automatically receive data roll-over benefits, be able to gift data to other Fizz Mobile users and participate in the rewards program. [2] If there is left-over data in a monthly cycle, it will be rolled-over to the next cycle. However, rolled-over data will only be available to the users for two months; after that, the data will be discarded if unused. Rolled-over data may not be gifted to other Fizz Mobile users either. When gifting data to other Fizz Mobile users, the gifted data from the sender will be transferred to the recipient and the recipient will have a larger data quota. Gifted data cannot be charged-back by the sender. Senders may only send at least 250mb of data.[3] The Fizz Mobile rewards program is a program that gives points to its users who contribute on the forums and help other users. The more users contribute, the more points they are rewarded. When users get enough points, they "level-up". Once users' levels increase, they receive 100mb of data that is redeemable when they reach 9 more levels. Furthermore, users can receive perks from Fizz Mobile, such as temporary unlimited data, on their birthdays. Unlike bonuses, perks can only be used once--after that, they are no longer valid. Badges can be earned with the Fizz Mobile rewards program as well.
