FLUME GENRE DESCRIPTION

Flume is a genre of music that incorporates a blend of different elements, including but not limited to: Metal, Hard Rock, Jazz, Soul, EDM (Electronic Dance Music), Acoustic, Easy Listening, and Fusion. The word flume is used to describe a deep, narrow channel with a stream flowing through. The genre depicts a flume in the way of being deep, yet ever-changing and constantly flowing into something greater. There is slight controversy about whether the music is considered to be Progressive Rock, Jazz Fusion, etc. The issue has come to light recently across the web that Flume bands aren't satisfactorily labeled, based on the premise that Flume bands have a very distinct sound compared to most genres. Even the well-regarded Flume artist, Sithu Aye, is unable to accurately label his own genre. There is a great distinction however, to the Flume genre as compared to other genre's of music. Some Flume bands may be comfortable with a simple label, such as progressive rock or jazz fusion, etc. Because of a great majority of confusion toward the style of music however, Flume was created to classify this new specific sound.
