About the BookFlâneur. The Art of Wandering the Streets of Paris is a half fiction half non-fiction book written by Federico Castigliano in 2017[1]. A hybrid between theoretical essay and autobiography, it was first published in Italian in 2017. It has been translated in English, French and Chinese. The Chinese version has been published by the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences in December 2018. The book focused on the character of the flâneur, the urban wanderer that was born in 19 century Paris, and it tries to describe the action of walking aimlessly in the city as a form of art. About the AuthorFederico Castigliano holds a PhD in Comparative Literature (University of Turin) and is Associate Professor of Italian Studies.[2] Having worked for several years in France, he currently teaches at Beijing International Studies University.
