Fraser Alexander Gorman (born 27 March 1991) is an Australian singer, songwriter, and musician.

Biography

Fraser Alexander Gorman was born in Geelong on 27 March 1991 and was raised in Torquay, Victoria. He began playing in bands around the Geelong area when he was 15 years old and moved to Melbourne when he turned 18.[1][2]

He made his solo debut at the Rainbow Hotel in Fitzroy, Victoria in 2011 and released his self-titled debut EP that same year.

In 2012, Gorman started working with Milk! Records, a record label started by fellow Melbourne based musician Courtney Barnett.

2015 saw the release of Gorman’s debut full length album, Slow Gum released on Milk! as well as UK based label, Marathon Artists. Slow Gum featured contributions from various Melbourne musicians including David Lane (You Am I), Stu Mackenzie (King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard) and Dan Luscombe (The Drones, Paul Kelly, Courtney Barnett).[3] Around this time, he and his band toured The United States, making appearances at South by Southwest[4] and CMJ followed by a European tour and a UK tour in which he supported friend, Courtney Barnett.

In 2016, Gorman’s song "Skyscraper Skyline Blues" appeared on Milk!’s Good For You compilation[5][6] which led to him taking part in the accompanying promotional tour across Australia playing alongside Barnett, Jen Cloher, The Finks, East Brunswick All Girls Choir, and Ouch My Face.[7]

Gorman followed up Slow Gum with his second full length release, Easy Dazy in 2018. Produced by past collaborator Dan Luscombe and French Producer Nicolas Vernhes, Easy Dazy saw the return of collaborators Mackenzie and Lane.[8][9]Easy Dazy was released on Brown Truck Records, a label started by Gorman and Moorea Allen, in the United States and Caroline Records in Australia.[10]

Over the years, Gorman has supprted acts such as Wanda Jackson, Damon Albarn, Iron & Wine, C.W. Stoneking, Paul Dempsey, and You Am I.[4][11]
