词条 Draft:Funa(carp)
释义

Funa are Japanese fish that are a small member of cyprinidae in Japan. All of the species are located in Lake Biwa, the largest lake in Japan. Funa are closely related to the goldfish but are not goldfish due to the native wild they live in and for the fact, they have lesser known morphology and slighter body differentiation.

Their biology is mostly shy and nimble unlike the domesticated goldfish, and there is fewer known cases that Funa has more species than an actual goldfish. The color of the scales is brown, burnt umber, dark olive, greyish brown, burnt orange, and sometimes black depending on their species status. For instance, nigorobuna(c.a. grandoculis), a kind of Funa, has brownish grey tint because of countershading, to prevent predators from above seeing the fish swimming underwear. Nagabuna and kimbuna are smaller form of funa that have a greenish color to hide in dense columns of vegetation. They grow up to 8 inches and lifespan up to 10 years.

In another way of speaking, Funa has different body heights regards to their relations. The nigorobuna is the largest Funa(15-20 inches) some exceed over 24 inches long. Though enormous, they are filter feeders, feeding on tiny morsels and algae.
