Gilberto Ramos Jr better known as GE Da Piolet, (born June 5, 1987), is an American rapper, and raised in Sumter, SC. He grew up with influences of Jay-Z, The Lox, Dip Set, Big Pun, being a frequent traveler to the North East it is was inevitable for him to love Hip Hop. He began freestyling in elementary which gave him the passion for music. He discovered he loved the interaction with his peers. GE Da Piolet persona is laid back and smooth but when it is time to perform he transforms. GE Da Piolet is very skilled, and his creative abilities crossed into graphic design. He attended and graduated college with heavy bills, and new he had to get an extra hustle. Opportunity presented itself through Working with So Icy Tay Beatz aka Tay Don & Waka Flocka they made a song, “They Be Choosin” from mixtape, Salute Me or Shoot Me 2. It was then that he got a taste of recording, and loved it. After designing these covers and My Space Pages his name was ringing as a graphic designer. As fate would have it, he met Trap-A-holics, a very popular DJ that dominates the mixtape circuit. GE Da Piolet created a trend with his designs as they were signature for him and set an industry standard. Working With Trap-A-holics brand being in house Designer he was designing for all his clients like; Waka Flocka, Bo Deal, Lil B, Gucci Mane, Lex Luger, Metro Boomin, 808 Mafia, OJ Da Juiceman, Future, & the list goes on. This kept him surrounded by success and triggered him to make music. He then released first project in 2013, titled “Icon”. He gained a traction, but with the lack of experience and confidence he wanted to take a break. As he resumed his regular life, he kept one foot in, and continued graphic designing. He was later introduced to a music consultant while designing covers for Yowda of Maybach Music Group. They connected and began to work. He had built his brand and was bringing in revenue to put towards his music. No later than a year he started his company, F16 Regime and was ready for business. He was then offered an independent label distribution through Empire. Now he has no reason not to release music. He could see the vision coming together and started working to his goals. Early 2016 he started working on Work in Progress with that innate passion for creating music. With the friends he made in the industry he was able to secure some nice features. He later recorded a song, “Lil Bit” produced by YK of 808 Mafia and released it 2017 on Empire Distribution. After that released another Metro Boomin produced song, “Global Sh*t”, and then single “Voices”. These singles were doing very well in streaming and he was now ready to push out an entire project. Currently, he just released Work in Progress Produced by DeeDotWill, YK & Fuse of 808 Mafia, Lex Luger, & Metro Boomin with songs featuring Derez De’shon, OJ Da Juiceman, Yowda, and others. This year and beyond GE Da Piolet want to really bring his music to the full capacity and take it to the next level. References |
