Genuine is a book by Terrell W Bosarge, Jr. published in 2019 that explores many problems and questions that he experienced in his own life. Through many struggles and unanswered questions that he had about how we live, the things we practice, and beliefs we hold as truths, he shares biblical insights and asks the question why do we do what we do? Bosarge claims that we have been deceived by the world and by our culture into a way of life that is not only robbing us of the abundance that God promises, but that is slowly killing us as well. He challenges the reader over and over to question their way of life and to know and understand why they do what they do. He challenges the church and Christ followers to be careful to ground their beliefs in the Word of God and not in the traditions of men. His ultimate goal for the book seems to be simply to have people examine themselves and seek to work out their own faith and way of living by purposefully stepping away from the crowd.

The author mentions early on that the content is a bit scattered. He speaks candidly about the human body, nudity, sexuality, marriage, breasts, bras, health and love. The topics themselves are provocative, but the ideas and perspectives of the author will seem taboo to most readers. The general theme throughout

the various topics remains the same - why do we do the things we do? Why are we conformed to the status quo and are we willing to veer away from that if proven beneficial? By the end of the book, the reader will certainly have been exposed to a very different thought process from what is considered normal.

The author explores the possibility that many of our conventions have been simply adopted by way of repetition and not rigorous examination. For example, he declares that most women wear bras simply to camouflage their nipples, and that the bra provides no health benefit to women whatsoever.
