Geophysical Insights (GPI) is the maker of the Paradise® software used for seismic interpretation.[1]. The founding of GPI was based on a "vision of applying machine learning methods to geologic interpretation to reduce the risk of exploration and the cost of field development."

Company history

Founded in 2008 by Dr. Thomas Smith after assembling a team that included geoscientists, interpretation software developers, and technology marketers[2]. Paradise, a multi-attribute analysis software, was launched in 2013 after three years of development and research[3][4].

The software uses machine learning and pattern recognition to extract greater amounts of information from available seismic data.

Geophysical Insights regularly sponsors and presents at the EAGE Annual Conference and Exhibition, SEG Annual Meeting, and AAPG Annual Convention and Exhibition[5][6][7]
