George Mullen (born May 7 in Vienna, Austria) [2] is an art historian, gallery owner and auctioneer.

Life Edit]

George Mullen was born in Vienna and grew up in England, Austria and France. [3] He is the eldest of six siblings. His first ten years of life were spent at a farm near Oxford. For professional reasons, the family returned back to Vienna in 1984, where Mullen attended high school. Between the age of 14 and 16, he moved to a boarding school in England, but he obtained the Matura at the Schottengymnasium [1] in Austria. From an early age he was interested in auctioning; Already as a teenager he worked during the holidays in the auction house Christie's. In addition to his studies in art history at Buckinghamshire Chilterns University College, which he began in 1996 and completed in 1999 with a Bachelor of Arts, he learned in the UK, the restoration of furniture. He was also curator of the Paris collection Guerrand-Hermès and from April 2008 to December 2009 as Director of Design at the Castello di Reschio in Perugia, Italy [4].

In 2012, he took over the management of the Bonhams representative office in Austria from April to July. From June 2013 to January 2014, he led the local branch of Lempertz. Since 2015 he is employed at the livestream auction house Auctionata in Berlin as a freelance expert and auctioneer. [2] [3]

A wider audience reached Mullen through his appearances as an art and antique expert in the ZDF television series Bares for Rares, whose expert team, he occasionally since the sixth season 2015/16 belonged.
