释义 | [https://www.georgoswine.com/ Georgos Wine] is a winery that imports premium Greek fruit to Sonoma to create a healthier style wine with low sulfites. They are located in Kenwood, Sonoma Valley, California. The company was founded in May of 2014 by former engineer Georgos Zanganas. When Zanganas relocated to San Francisco, he found it difficult to find Greek wines he liked in the United States. He decided to import Greek juice from his family’s vineyards in Peloponnese, Greece to Sonoma Valley, in 24,000 liter bladders[1] [2]. Upon arrival, some of the wines are blended with Sonoma Valley grapes to fit a Greek flavor profile under the guidance of award-winning winemaker Robert Rex of Deerfield Ranch Winery in Sonoma the 2018 Wine Maker of the Year [3][4]. The wines get their names from the Islands of Greece. Currently available varietals are: 2017 Santorini, a dry, crisp, unoaked 100% Greek Assyrtiko (Santorini); 2017 Ios, a dry, unoaked 100% Rosé of Agiorgitiko (Olympia); 2013 Mykonos, a light red blend, 95% Agiorgitiko (Olympia) – 5% Syrah (Sonoma); 2015 Ithaka, a 90% Sonoma Cabernet (Sonoma) and 10% Agiorgitiko (Olympia) blend; and 2015 Corfu--85% Sonoma Bordeaux Blend (Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Malbec) and 15% Agiorgitiko (Olympia)[5]. Actor Robert Davi acquired a stake in [https://www.georgoswine.com/ Georgós Greek Wine Company] in August 2018 after he purchased a bottle of their wine at a Whole Foods Market. He called Georgós, "One of the smoothest damn wines I've ever had." [6] |
