It featured a display of Lalanne mouton sculptures created by François-Xavier Lalanne which were from Shvo's personal collection. It was also considered the largest display of such sculptures by Lalanne.[3] Sheep StationThe location of the display was the corner of 10th Avenue and 24th Street in Manhattan at the site of what originally a Getty Oil gas station. Shvo purchased the property in 2013 for $23.5 million with plans to turn it into a high end luxury condominiums.[4] Shvo teamed up with Paul Kasmin Gallery for the installation. It began with small trees on the property before teaming up with François-Xavier Lalanne (who was represented by the gallery). Permission to use Lalanne's work was obtained from his widow, Claude Lalanne.[5] 15 of the sheep on display were from Shvo's personal collection with the remaining supplied by Kasmin. The grounds were transformed into a meadow by using gravel and grass, with the sheep positioned as if they were grazing in the meadow.[5] The Getty BuildingThe site was later developed into a high-end luxury condominium named The Getty Building,[2] with Peter Marino designated as the architect for both the interior and exterior of the project.[6] The property is the home of the Lehmann Maupin gallery[7] as well as a private museum owned by J. Tomilson Hill.[8] References1. ^{{cite news | last = | first = | coauthors = | title =Sheep Take Over Gas Station In Site-Specific Art Installation in New York City | newspaper =The Huffington Post| location = | pages = | language = | publisher = | date =18 September 2013 | url =http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/09/18/sheep-station_n_3943140.html | accessdate =12 December 2018 }} 2. ^1 {{cite news |last1=Bissinger |first1=Buzz |title=The Getty: The Littlest High Rise in New York |url=https://www.departures.com/art-culture/architecture/michael-shvo-and-peter-marino-luxe-getty-condo-building-west-chelsea-new-york |accessdate=17 December 2018 |publisher=Departures |date=8 December 2016}} 3. ^{{cite news |last1=Zhong |first1=Fan |title=Looking Sheepish |url=https://www.wmagazine.com/story/sheep-station-francois-xavier-lalanne |accessdate=17 December 2018 |publisher=W Magazine |date=16 September 2013}} 4. ^{{cite news |last1=Magill |first1=Lee |title=The Tenth Avenue Getty station is now Sheep Station (slide show) |url=https://www.timeout.com/newyork/things-to-do/the-tenth-avenue-getty-station-is-now-sheep-station-slide-show |accessdate=2 February 2019 |publisher=Time Out |date=18 September 2013}} 5. ^1 {{cite news |last1=Heyman |first1=Marshall |title=Sheepish at the Station |url=https://www.wsj.com/articles/sheepish-at-the-station-1379379640 |accessdate=2 February 2019 |publisher=The Wall Street Journal |date=16 September 2013}} 6. ^{{cite news|last1=Wilson|first1=Reid|title=300 Lafayette Filings, Permits for Shvo's 239 10th Avenue, More|url=http://www.yimbynews.com/2014/09/dob-digest-300-lafayette-filings-permits-for-shvos-239-10th-avenue-more.html|accessdate=30 September 2014|publisher=New York Yimby|date=15 September 2014}} 7. ^{{cite news |last1=Neuendorf |first1=Henri |title=Lehmann Maupin to Move to Massive New Peter Marino-Designed Chelsea Space in 2017 |url=https://news.artnet.com/market/lehmann-maupin-expansion-chelsea-511469 |accessdate=11 February 2019 |publisher=ArtNet |date=3 June 2016}} 8. ^{{cite news |last1=Neuendorf |first1=Henri |title=New York Billionaire to Open Private Museum in Chelsea |url=https://news.artnet.com/art-world/new-york-billionaire-private-museum-chelsea-582314 |accessdate=11 February 2019 |publisher=ArtNet |date=29 July 2016}} External links
