Ghassan Sahhab (1985) is a Lebanese musician, qānūn player, and researcher in Levantine musical traditions. He is also the co-founder of me’zaf initiative for authentic music in the Levant. Ghassan is a PhD candidate at the Ethnomusicology department at the Paris-Nanterre University in France supervised by Professor Jean Lambert and holds a diploma in Higher Studies of General Traditional Musicology from the Higher Institute for Music at the Antonine University in Lebanon since 2011 under the supervision of Professor Nidaa Abou Mrad and a bachelor of music in the traditional Levantine-Arab qānūn from the Antonine Music School since 2007. Currently, he is a professor[1][2] at Antonine University and Lebanese American University, and a member of Asil Ensemble for Contemporary Arab Music and the Antonine University ensemble for Arab classical music.
