Grigoriy Anatolyevich Tkach (26 June 1933 — 2001) was a famous Ukrainian scientist inorganic chemist from Kharkov.

Doctor of Technical Sciences (1978), Professor, (1979), Academician of the Environmental Academy of Ukraine (1992), Honored Inventor of Ukraine (1992), Laureate State Prize of Ukraine [1] (1991).

Biography

In 1956 he graduated from the Kharkov Polytechnic Institute, after which he got a job in the Kharkov Carbonat Scientific Production Association, where he worked from 1956 to 1985 in various positions.

From 1985 to 1999 - Head of the Department of Chemical Engineering and Industrial Technologies KPI.

Scientific career

The main directions of scientific activity: the improvement of technology inorganic production, the creation of new equipment (chemical and environmental) using surface-alloyed ferrous metals instead of stainless steels and titanium.

He developed the theoretical foundations of physical and mathematical modeling of processes of soda and related industries. For the first time in world practice, he described highly efficient technological regimes occurring in priority countercurrent slotted, perforated and tubular lattice, as well as in cross-flowable double overflow contact elements, showed a fundamentally new mechanism of fluid flow, which eliminates the overgrowth of holes in perforated plates (the effect of axial fluid flow through holes with a diameter of more than 90 mm), which dramatically increases the turnaround time of vehicles. He created a highly efficient toroidal heat and mass exchange dust-gas cleaning apparatus. He developed the theoretical foundations of surface alloying of metals, which allowed, along with anticorrosion, to obtain the effect of hardening the surface of metals when conducting diffusion multicomponent doping (the problem of eliminating stainless steels and titanium as structural materials in the manufacture of chemical, food and other equipment is being solved, the problems of increasing the service life of the cutting tool are solved , interacting parts and mechanisms - bearings, engines, etc.). At the same time, the technology is environmentally efficient.

Highly efficient technological processes and their instrumentation were implemented at all soda plants in the country, which made it possible to realize two licenses with an economic effect of more than $ 0.9 million.

There is also collaboration with Evstratov, they were authors of the "KPI Restructuring Concepts", where they presented their vision of the ways improvement of university activity: transition to the status of a technical university, broad humanization and humanization of the educational process; creating conditions and expanding the independence of university departments; the beginning of new approaches in the training of engineers in the form of two strategic directions - the creation of educational, scientific and production centers with branches of production departments and the organization of a permanent system of pedagogical training at the university; improvement of methodological and material support, the introduction of democratic methods of governing an institution.

Publications

Author of more than 270 scientific papers, including more than 150 copyright certificates and patents; co-author of scientific discovery No.368 "Regularity of changes in the resistance of ferrous metals", which has made fundamental changes in ideas about the corrosion properties of surface layers and mechanisms of local corrosion; the author of two monographs and the book «Absorption-Desorption in Soda Production».

Under his leadership, 28 candidate and two doctoral dissertations were completed and successfully defended.

Scientific achievements

Developed and successfully reads lecture courses “Soda Production”, “Equipment for Chemical Production”, etc.

Published three textbooks on the creation of new chemical equipment and the use of CAD in the educational process. More attention is paid to the improvement of the educational process, the development of the concept of training of mechanical engineers in chemical enterprises, connecting individual training based on continuous computer, environmental and humanitarian studies.

Awards

  • In 1999, Tkach G.A. together with Tovazhnyansky L.L. and were awarded State Prize of Ukraine for the development of the theoretical foundations of technologies and equipment for the production of calcined Crimean Soda Plant based on the integrated extraction of raw materials Sivash.

Tovazhnyansky L.L. said: “On my initiative, the head of the OSAGO department was invited to Professor G.А. Weaver, who led a large department in NIOHim. From that moment began the revival of this department. ”
