Heinzfeller Nileisist is a publishing imprint located in New York City. It was started in 2014 by Frank Haines. Heinzfeller Nileisist publishes works of poetry, prose, true crime essays, artist books, artist editions, and books on living with entheogens.

Frank Exchanges, published in 2014, is a collection of 26 interviews conducted by Frank Haines. The subjects of the interviews were Haines' artistic peers. The interviewees included Hisham Bharoocha, Matt Connors, Patrick Delaney, Cheryl Dunn, Marina Eckler, Simon Evans, Christopher Garrett, Alexis Georgoppoulos, Melissa Ip, Chris Johanson, Chris Kachulis, Jackie Klempay, Reuben Lorch-Miller, Mary Manning, Robin Haines-Merrill, Robbie McDonald, Linda Montano, Tim O'Brien, Linus Owens, David Sanderson, Peter Seals, Cedar Sigo, Jen Smith, Todd Space, Eliza Swann, and Trevor Tyrell.

Dead is Better by Alissa Bennett
Dead is Better, published in 2016, is a collection of celebrity death essays written by Alissa Bennett. Bennett had penned a a series of Instagram posts dealing with her favorite celebrity deaths. At a Christams party soon after, Bennett met Frank Haines who asked if she would like to publish the essays as a zine.[1][2][3]

In an interview with Stephanie LaCava for The Believer Bennett described her influences for the ongoing series:

"There are certain books that have been really important to me and that I have read over and over and over. The three that come to mind are Kenneth Anger’s Hollywood Babylon (which I think Dead is Better is a very transparent homage to), David K. Frasier’s Suicide in the Entertainment Industry, and Roland Barthes’ Camera Lucida. I don’t know if it was an intentional effort to conflate the qualities that I love about each of them (sensationalism, factual information, and sentimentality), or if it’s just the consequence of having spent a lot of time with the texts."[4]

Legalize Crime by Alissa Bennett
Legalize Crime, published in 2016, is Bennett's second book in the Dead is Better series. The book contains 13 sociological essays on murders such as Gypsy Rose, Walburga Oesterreich, Mark Anthony "Gator" Rogowski, and others.[5]
Bad Behavior by Alissa Bennett

Bad Behavior, published in 2017, is Bennett's third book in the Dead is Better series. The book contains nine essays that detail Bennett's interest in tales of woe, addiction, and criminal depravity. Subjects include Paula Abdul, Kiki Kannibal, Eva Rausing, Alix Tichelman and others.

I Expected Something Nice by Alissa Bennett

I Expected Something Nice, published in 2017, is the fourth title from Bennett in the Dead is Better series. The book is comprised of 8 essays that examine the concept of disappointment. Subjects include Kiersten Cerveny , Rebecca Gayheart, Marion Lambert and others.

Don't Memorize the Leaves by Christopher Garrett

Don't Memorize the Leaves is an artist book designed by Garrett documenting a 10 year project of works on paper made through grave rubbings.

Jane with Fortnight Institute

Jane, published in 2018 (with Fortnight Institute), is a book designed by Haines meant to coincide with Jane Kaplowitz's solo exhibition Jane Kaplowitz RSVP: Jane Rosenblum (1977-2018) curated by Alison Gingeras.[6] The book contains an extensive selection of Kaplowitz's archives. The book also contains essay by Gineras and Miciah Hussey.

Figure Out by Jamieson Webster and Marcus Coelen
Figure Out is a semifictional epistolary novel written in texts and emails between psychoanalysts Jamieson Webster and Marcus Coelen. Coelen and Webster do not delineate who wrote which email or text; in fact, they eventually rewrote each other’s, tweaking until they became blurred.[7] The book contains illustrations by Ollie Leigh Nirenberg.

An group art exhibition titled Emergency Contact was co-curated by Webster and Javier Hernandez. Artists were asked to make works that responded to the Coelen and Webster's text. The exhibition took place at Placeholder gallery in Miami, Florida in September of 2018.[8]

Zaum of Zeena

Zaum of Zeena, published in 2015, is a collection of interviews, essays, and artwork by Zeena Schreck. It was edited by Haines.

Cedar Sigo with Matt Connors cassette

This cassette was recorded in the summer of 2015 at the Shandaken Project, Storm King, New York. Sigo read his poems aloud inside of his outdoor studio. Matt Connors hand painted each cover. The cassette was released in an edition of 20.

Wolves & Villagers Micki Pellerano

Pellerano designed a custom deck for the parlor game Wolves & Villagers (sometimes referred to as Werewolf). Each card depicts a work on paper made by Pellerano for the deck. Released in a first edition of 30.

Spirit Animals by Christeene

Spirit Animals, published in 2016, is an artist book created by Christeene. The book was made in conjunction with Christeene's appearance at the Los Angeles Art Book fair curated by Shannon Michael Cane.[9]. Each cover was unique in that Christeene signed them by rolling her made up face across the cover.

Reuben Lorch Miller Isolation Party

Isolation Party, published in 2016, is a book containing phototgraphs by Reuben Lorch-Miller from 1993 to 1995. The photographs depict bands in the Olympia Music scene of which Lorch-Miller was a part. Many of the photographs went on to be promo photos, whereas many of the other photos had never been published.

Bronze Chimes

Bronze Chimes is a chapbook containing poems written in response or in homage to the poems of Alfred Starr Hamilton. It contains the work of over 24 poets like Colter Jacobsen, Raina J. Leon, Joanne Kyger, and Ben Estes. The book was edited by Cedar Sigo and Haines.

Brise Marine

Brise Marine, published in 2016, is a collection of translations of Stéphane Mallarmé's poem Brise Marine (Sea Breeze). The book contains translations by a number of poets including Bill Berkson, Coco Roland, Lawrence Rinder, Jennifer Foerster and others. The book was edited by Cedar Sigo and Frank Haines.

An Inventory of Lucifer's Grotto

An Inventory of Lucifer's Grotto, published 2014, is a catalogue produced to acompany an exhibit with the same title. The exhibit happened at Jackie Klempay Gallery in Brooklyn, New York. Exhibiting artists included Herbert Huncke, Cali Thornhill-Dewitt, Anne Eastman, Mary Manning and others.

The Range by Alexa Adams & Flora Gill

The Renge, published in 2016, is an artists book by Alexa Adams and Flora Gill, the duo behind the women’s wear line, Ohne Title. The book explores the mythology of the mountain.[10]

Dead is Better Cassette by Alissa Bennett and Bjarne Melgaard

This cassette, published in 2016, is an audio book of Dead is Better read by the author Alissa Bennett. Bennett asked friend Bjarne Melgaard design the covers. There are 10 covers with original drawings. Each drawing has an edition of 2 photocopied versions.

King Love

King Love, published 2016, is a book made by Frank Haines. The subject of the book is King Love AKA Dr. Kamal Abdou Youssef,who was born in Cairo,Egypt in 1933 and came to the U.S. in 1969.[11] King Love was known to many as a semi-homeless street performer and fixture in Tallahassee. Haines met King Love in 1995 while attending FLorida State University and interviewed him for his first fanzine. The book documents ephemera, articles, artwork and letters from or about King Love. It also explores his lasting influence on those who encountered him.

Jimmy Wright: 1976, published in 2016, is a chapbook published with Fierman gallery. The book contain's reproductions of Wright's NYC Subway Toilet Series drawings from 1976. Alison Gingeras and Alissa Bennett conributed essays for the book. The book was published in conjunction with Wright's exhibition Jimmy Wright: New York Underground at Fierman gallery in November of 2016.[12][13][14]
Terror in America: GG Allin with Nico Vascellari

Terror in America, published 2016, is a book containing reproductions of GG Allin's drawings as well as ephermera related to Allin. The book was made in collaboration with Nico Vascellari and the items reproduced in the book come from Vascellari's collection. The book also includes an essay by Alissa Bennett.

Psylocibe Fanaticus

Psylocibe Fanaticus is a reproduction of Robert ' Billy' McPherson's (aka Psylocibe Fanaticus) life narrative. The zine was published after the 2016 election in the fear that such techniques could begin disappearing from the internet.
