HyperSat MINI (HSN){{r|oscw2017}} is a universal satellite bus designed for space missions realized in short time and at a low cost. It can support missions of a single satellite or constellations of spacecraft. The bus comprises exchangeable modules which offer different functionalities. The smallest bus configuration measures 36x36x10 cm and has a mass of 10 kg. It can be extended to reach 36x36x60 cm and a mass of 60 kg by adding additional modules or instruments.

The project

Currently the HyperSat bus prototype is being developed{{r|oscw2018}}. Electronics design will cover all subsystems (among them power, on-board computer and communications).

Major advantages of a new bus will be provided by its modularity and repeatability. Customers will be able to configure the satellite using readily available modules. HSN is defined similarly as a smaller CubeSat (10x10x10 cm, 1 kg), but will be able to carry bigger instruments{{r|iac2018}}, so its usefulness will be obvious. The bus will be compatible with majority of devices designed for cubesats. That will make a significant number of components available to potential customers.

A standard separation system and known bus dimensions will ease launch logistics and help in securing faster delivery times to orbit.

The HyperSat bus is being developed as an open system – a description of its structure and drawings, as well as electronics schematics like HypeSat Data Network will be available under open license.

At the same time, closed systems compatible with HSN bus could be developed.

The Hyper Bus Development project will be carried out by Creotech Instruments S.A. (CTI) together with partners like Space Research Centre of Polish Academy of Sciences (CBK) . Partners willing to join in the development of the bus or a particular instrument compatible with HSN are welcome to participate in the project.

The author of the concept is Marcin Stanisław Stolarski PhD. The HyperSat project was announced {{r|linktopoland1}}{{r|kosnonauta1}}{{r|businessinsider1}}{{r|spidersweb1}} in 2017. Funds for implementation come from the National Centre for Research and Development in Poland {{r|ncbir1}} and from private funds.
