The word sleep comes from the old German verbs for sleep known as "SlAF". For a long time, sleeping was believed to be a daily activity needed in everyday lives which served no real purpose and nothing productive was possible to occur during the time. Research on the topic has lead to the conclusion that, sleep plays in important part in the maintenance of the physical and mental health as well as creating as protecting humans. In adults between the ages of 40-59 year old, 40 percent have reported sleep deprivation. Within the typical 24 hours a day less than 7 hours of sleep have been reported by over 35.3 percent of adults.
