BiographyIn 1976–1982 studied at Vilnius University and acquired a professional qualification of philologist and teacher of German language. In 1976 started working at Vilnius University Library. In 1994–2006 held the post of Deputy to Director General of the Library. In 2004–2006 lectured at the Institute of Librarianship and Information Science of Vilnius University Faculty of Communication (lecture course “Management of Lithuanian Academic Libraries”). In March of 2009 Irena Krivienė has been appointed Director General of Vilnius University Library. In 2003–2011 she was a member of the committee for the Lithuanian national UNESCO programme “Memory of the World”[1], since 2018 member of the programme’s peak governing body – International Advisory Committee (IAC)[2][3].
