He directed his first film A Son Of Man from 2008 until 2018. The film was selected as Ecuador's submission for Best Foreign Language Film and Best Documentary Feature Film at the 91st Academy Awards.[1] A Son Of Man it also competed in the 76th Golden Globes Best Foreign Language Film. He produced the Canadian socio-political documentary Highway of Tears which won the Malibu International Film Festival in 2015 [2]. As the founder and godfather of the innovative Film Genre Realismo Fantástico also known as Reality Cinema he wrote the Manifesto through which A SON OF MAN was created - forming the first thesis to this new Film Genre.
