CareerAs a teenager, Muscato was a part of the British Youth Music Theatre[5], starring in their production of Unforgotten in 2005[6]. He made his professional and West End debut[7][8] at the age of 18 in the 2009 original London production of Spring Awakening at the Novello Theatre[9]. This production won a Laurence Olivier Award for Best New Musical[10]. Muscato has been in several productions of Les Misérables, playing Jean Prouvaire in the 2010 International Tour[2], Joly in the 25th Anniversary Concert at the The O2 Arena[11] and as part of the Student Ensemble in the 2012 film. As part of the film's promotion, Muscato joined the rest of the cast in performing "One Day More" at the 85th Academy Awards[2][12]. In 2014, Muscato was cast as Eddie Birdlace in the European premiere of the Pasek and Paul musical Dogfight at the Southwark Playhouse[3], for which he received generally positive reviews[13][14]. Muscato was later part of the reuniting cast in a staged concert performance at The Other Palace (previously 'St James Theatre')[15]. Muscato played Story Edward in the London premiere of Big Fish at The Other Palace[16]. Along with the other cast members, Muscato performed 'Daffodils' at the 2017 Royal Variety Performance[17][18]. In 2017, Muscato participated in a workshop reading of The Musical at The Other Palace, reading for the character of Jason 'JD' Dean[19]. The workshop ran for five performances in front of a live audience as a 'work-in-progress' project[20]. In 2018, Muscato was later re-cast as the same character in the fully-staged London premiere of the show, again at The Other Palace[21][22]. After a successful run at the Off-West End venue, the production announced a West End transfer to Theatre Royal Haymarket, which ran from 3rd September-24th November 2018[23]. Muscato features on the Original West End Cast Recording[24]. For his performance, Muscato was nominated for a WhatsOnStage Award for "Best Actor in a Musical"[25]. In late 2018, Muscato performed in the West End Does: Christmas concert at Cadogan Hall[26][27]. He participated in the 2019 edition of MT Fest[28][29] in 2019, performing in a workshop reading of a musical adaptation of But I'm a Cheerleader[30][31][32]. In April 2019, Muscato will play the role of Ethan in a rehearsed reading of Murder at the Gates, a new musical written by Spring Awakening writer Steven Sater and Busted member James Bourne[33]; and in June, he will host his debut solo concert as part of a short season held at The Other Palace.[34] Muscato is due to perform in the inaugural West End Proms, with performances in Greenwich, as part of the Greenwich Music Time festival, and at the Scarborough Open Air Theatre.[35][36][37] Theatre credits
