Jason's career began when he left high school, moved to Los Angeles and began exploring fashion and photography. Aside from modeling and photography, Jason is also an IT Professional in Networking and System Engineering. Early lifeJason Michael Bassett was born November 24, 1992 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and grew up in Sand Springs, Oklahoma. Jason was always fond of working and started his first job when he was only 10 years old. Although not a real job, a local dry cleaning business would pay him small cash to pick up paper clips and sweep the floors of the shop. Jason later worked for a construction company that was owned by a youth leader at his local church, where he would pull nails from wood that was being demolished, help hang dry-wall and even pour concrete. Jason also had a thing for lawn care, and would often push his lawn mower around the neighborhood throughout the summers mowing neighbors lawns. Jason grew up in an impoverished home where his mother did not work and his father was an alcoholic. Jason did not get along well with his father and they both would often fight when his father would be intoxicated. The fights would be so bad that the police were called numerous times, although no charges were ever filed. It is reported that Jason and his father once fought each other on the front lawn of their home as a result of a confrontation between the two about his fathers drinking. Jason would often couch surf on friends couches to stay away from his father. As there were times his father would kick him out in the middle of the night, forcing him to sleep on the street or be lucky enough to contact a friend. This caused a great deal of trouble for Jason in school. Jason asked his mother if he could emancipate from his parents and she agreed to go to the school superintendent to learn options. They later agreed that Jason could emancipate and would be completely on his own. He moved to a friends house shortly after. Although Jason was emancipated from his parents, they were still responsible for him medically. Meaning that Jason could not go see a doctor by himself without parental guidance. While still attending high school and living with his friend, Jason became extremely ill with flu-like symptoms. He tried to reach his mother several times via phone call and text message, however she would never return his calls or texts. This lead to him missing more than 14 days of school. Upon returning, the school administrators told Jason that he had lost all of his credits, and was forced to drop out of high school in his Junior year, as a result of missing too many consecutive days. Jason pleaded with the school administrators, but they were firm in their decision. He spent the summer at his friends house where he was staying before deciding to move to Los Angeles. He searched for rooms to rent on craigslist and made friends with who would become his future roommate. He ultimately asked his father for the money to move, but was convinced his father would say no. To his surprise his father said yes and his mother took him to purchase a one-way bus ticket and left the next day. With only $100 in his pocket with only a few articles of clothing to his name in his suitcase, Jason arrived to Union Station in downtown Los Angeles where his new roommate from craigslist was awaiting his arrival. He began looking for work and ultimately got a job working for American Eagle at Del Amo Mall as his first job in California. Jason bounced around from many shops in the mall until he formed the idea for a clothing company called Stay Fresh Clothing, Co. He began designing shirts and sweaters and learning how to screen print. The company was mildly successful but not enough for him to quit his day job, which ultimately resulted in the demise of the company as he didn't have time or money to invest back into the company. CareerAfter building his own clothing company and learning how to program and write code, Jason found an interest in the Information Technology field and began working as a Helpdesk Engineer in Los Angeles in 2012. From there, Jason grew to become an IT Professional focusing on Networking and System Engineering. Jason also began studying and learning more about photography in his free time. He refers to himself as a "weekend photographer" on his social media, where he models himself and others in his photography. Most of his work comprises of fashion models around the Los Angeles area and National Parks such as Yosemite and Joshua Tree. Jason has gained recognition from the likes of DJ Swivel and Samaar Siddiqui. He also owns a Fiber Optic corporation known as EXPRSN Fiber. His mission is to bring high-speed fiber-optic internet to underserved areas. The project is still underway and is set to break ground in his hometown of Sand Springs, Oklahoma sometime in 2019. Personal LifeRelationshipsJason is married to Hafsa Bassett, a model and professional makeup artist. They got married September 18, 2016 at a Mosque in Garden Grove, California. They had a large reception 6 months later at the South End Country Club in Torrance, California. Spiritual BeliefsJason was born and grew up a Christian.
