Jay (his surname is unknown), known professionally as "Jayballs", is an English rapper, singer, songwriter, and record producer.

Early life and career beginnings

Jay was born on August 2004 in England. In mid-2017 at age twelve, he had FL Studio 12 installed onto his computer, and learned the basics of it. For fun, he started doing remixes of songs from his favourite video games, and in 2019 he uploaded his first remix onto his SoundCloud account. It was a remix of Megalovania from the video game Undertale, and it was made back in 2017, according to the description of the SoundCloud track "Megalovania remix from when I was 12"[1].

On 19 February 2019, his SoundCloud account was created, and on the same day, he posted a track called "Introduction (not a song)"[2], where he explained who he is and what he wants to do, saying that his music is intended to "help the mentally ill". He also announced that his first official single would be released on 20 February, at 6:44PM UK time. A day later, he released that first single, "The Angst And The Humanity", as promised, but it was uploaded at around 11AM-12PM because he had something to do at the original time it was meant to be uploaded. It is explained in the description of the track.[3]

Jay released two more singles in the following days, but he was eventually hit with writer's block, and he started posting covers of other songs to keep entertaining his players while he recovers from writer's block. During this time period, he covered songs by Gorillaz, Green Day, Nine Inch Nails, My Chemical Romance, XXXTentacion, and Eminem. He also covered "Bitch Lasagna" by PewDiePie to help him win the subscriber battle against T-Series, but it was censored for unknown reasons, and the cover was titled "Lasagna". He made a remix of Dan Bull's "Robocopyright" on 25 March to persuade people to oppose Articles 11 and 13 of the European Copyright Directive.

On 6 March 2019, Jay released "Drown In Rubble"[4], a single that was from his upcoming EP, Foetus. He would later post updates about the EP. On 2 April 2019, he uploaded an update confirming that Foetus was finished with production, and would be released two days later (that track was deleted the next day for unknown reasons). Foetus, which was his debut EP, was released on 4 April 2019[5].

As of 6 April 2019, Jay's SoundCloud account has 34 followers, 106 likes, 33 reposts (some of those accounts that reposted would later be deleted), and around 6300 plays.

Style

Jay's music is clarified as rap rock, punk rock, alternative rock, industrial rock, and nu metal, and sadcore. From time to time, he experiments with post-hardcore, emo, and screamo. His lyrics are usually angst-filled, and contain themes of depression, anxiety, isolation, self-hatred, and heartbreak.
