Dr. Jennie C. Stephens is a social science researcher, currently a professor at Northeastern University^[1]. Her primary area of research concerns the social and political impacts of renewable energy technologies such as wind power^[2]. She currently serves as the Dean's Professor of Sustainability Science and Policy at Northeastern University and is the director of Northeastern's School of Public Policy and Urban Affairs^[1].

Recent Work

Stephens' was most recently published in [https://www.sciencemag.org/ Science] in an editorial related to the renewable energy future of Puerto Rico^[3]. She and her coauthors recommended that following the destruction of Hurricane Maria, which struck in 2017, Puerto Rico should invest heavily in transitioning to renewable energy sources^[3].

Her previous work has included utilizing different sociological frameworks to try and understand the newspaper coverage of onshore wind energy^[4]^[5] in multiple states in the US.
