Jiří Pomeje (13 December 1964 – 26 February 2019 was Czech actor and film producer. Career lifeHe was born on 13 December 1964 in České Budějovice. His parents were Jiří Pomeje (educated as engineer) and Jaroslava Pomejová (working as midwife and teacher in nursery). He absolved grammar school in České Budějovice. He was dancing for 12 years and 10 years he danced competitively. He danced ballet in České Budějovice's theater. He wanted study at DAMU, but he was not accepted because his father was not in Communist Party (he did not agree with Warsaw Pact invasion of Czechoslovakia in 1968). However, he got job as an actor in North-moravian theater in Šumperk. A year later he was accepted for study at DAMU and he graduated in 1988. In 1992 he founded company named Fronda film. As film producer he worked in some films, for example Princezna ze mlejna (1992, Czech fairytail, mean Princess from mill), Z pekla štěstí (1999, also Czech fairytail, means Luck from hell) or Andělská tvář (2002, Czech romantic film taking place in historic France, mean Angel place). With this film he had financial problems - during film preparations company FV Plast disagree with co-financing. However, Pomeje decided to record this film and he took loan. He could not repay it because film had not high traffic. He failed as film producent, had an execution and he had lots of problems with alcoholism. For 10 years he was judged. In 2013, ex-president of Czech Republic Václav Klaus declared an amnesty and trial for Jiří Pomeje finished. Meantime in 2007, he participed in preparation of exhibition Gottland. From March 2012 he moderated VIP zprávy (VIP News) on Czech television channel Prima. In 2013 he must left this show because he criticized "women mafia" on this channel. Personal lifeIn 1994 he married Czech actress and model Michaela Kuklová. He divorced her after 13 years in 2007. Next year he got married with Czech singer Iveta Bartošová. This marriage wasn't very happy - Bartošová asked for divorce. Both of this marriages were childless. In January 2013 he married his girlfriend Andrea Šťasná in Thailand. Wedding ceremony took place in Buddhist temple. In September 2013 was born his only child, daughter Anna. Jiří Pomeje died on 26 February 2019 in Nová Ves pod Pleší. He had larynx cancer which later metastasized in bones and then into whole body. He started fight with cancer in 2017 and gradually he lost vision and voice.
