He is known for his ownership of the Bommarito Automotive Group, the Bommarito Automotive Group 500, and other automotive-related businesses. Early life and educationBommarito attended Eckerd College after graduating from Christian Brothers College High School in St. Louis, Missouri. In 1987, after graduating with honors, he was accepted to Stanford University Medical School. Bommarito Automotive GroupBommarito’s early days included selling new Mazda’s. He proceeded to the Nissan location as the Finance Manager. He quickly became the Sales Manager. He took over the Bommarito Automotive Group business from his father Frank in 1998. Bommarito is the current President of the #1 Automotive Group in Missouri with 20 locations in the St. Louis area on top of 9 pre-owned centers.[1] Bommarito 500In January 2017, a multi-year agreement was designed with Gateway Motorsports Park Owner and CEO Curtis Francois and Bommarito Automotive Group President, John Bommarito.[2] The Bommarito Automotive Group 500 was announced at the 2017 St. Louis Auto Show with the Bommarito Automotive Group as the title sponsor.[3] In 2019 it was announced this sponsorship would extend through the 2021 race.[4] In November 2017, John Bommarito was nominated, and appointed as one of the Directors of the St. Louis Sports Commission.[5] Personal lifeBommarito has two children and lives in St. Louis, Missouri.
