He currently serves as the producer and songwriter for RxGF (Radioactive X Girlfriend). (1984-1989)John Morgan Reilly started his musical career with fellow King's Garden High School classmate and bassist, Byron Hansen, at the age of fourteen as the vocalist for a North Seattle garage band which eventually became known as Sleze.[1] Playing music with these same musicians, who would move on to become founding members of Alice N' Chains, and eventually Second Coming, inspired Reilly to learn guitar and both write and record his own original breed of music. In 1985, Reilly helped found and name the punk band, The Dehumanizers, with Seattle neighborhood brothers David Portnow and Ed Portnow[2], and simultaneously began recording complex choral works as a session musician for the high school choral ensemble. Former Sleze bandmate, Zoli Semanate, joined The Dehumanizers in 1985 and rather than drop out of high school and tour with the band, Reilly finished his schooling while helping Dave Portnow as an associate editor and contributing writer for his Subway Fanzine[3]. (1990-1995)As Reilly began to develop his guitar playing and songwriting, he founded System Seven (U.S.) with fellow classmates Matthew Burgess and David Grisham touring domestically throughout the early 1990's. The band released several albums and was one of the first Seattle bands to have their music featured on compact disc in May of 1990.{{citation needed|date=April 2019}} In 1993, the band began to morph toward a more guitar-heavy alternative rock sound and became Mona Lisa Overdrive and then eventually Love Lies Bleeding (LLB) which received airplay on local Seattle radio stations KNDD, KISW, and KXRX.{{citation needed|date=April 2019}} Thanks to the exposure through radio airplay, LLB performed at the 1994 Bumbershoot Festival[4] and was frequently included in diverse concert lineups sponsored by local radio stations with notable bands including Critters Buggin, Gilby Clarke, Circus of Power, and Corrosion of Conformity. (1996–2005)In 1995 Reilly disbanded LLB, went underground, and focused on songwriting and recording as the medium of 2" recording tape was transitioning quickly toward digital recording. Reilly never released anything commercially between 1995 and 2005, but continued working on his songwriting, musicianship, engineering, and music production skills at Avast! Recording Studios and other smaller studios in the Pacific Northwest. {{citation needed|date=April 2019}} RxGF (2010–Present)In 2010 Reilly became an official member of The National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences, began working closely with engineer and producer, Jonathan Plum[5], at his London Bridge Studio[6][7][8][9], and in 2011 released the debut Radioactive X Girlfriend record The Art Of Splitting. Since 2011 Reilly has recorded with a number of established musicians and songwriters, including Davey Brozowski (Modest Mouse & The Catheters)[10], Andrew Joslyn (Mark Lanegan, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Grieves, Tuatara)[11], Daniel Bedingfield[12], Swiss singer LaMeduza[13], Jol'e Williams[14], Matthew Burgess (Roger Fisher and 3 Doors Down)[15], Jonathan Plum (Alice in Chains, Candlebox, Brother Cane)[16][17], and drummer/DJ KJ Sawka of Pendulum[18]. Reilly has produced 4 full-length RxGF records and a number of singles.[19] The 2019 single, Soft Reveal by RxGF features the musicianship of both Reilly and KJ Sawka and appears on the album Volver Arriba (HERØ Records). The release is scheduled for May of 2019. DiscographyWith RxGF (Radioactive X Girlfriend)
