Risti has also recorded and performed with many well-known artists, including Eddie Money[1] and the popular Los Angeles band Wonderland.[2] BiographyJohn Joseph Risti, born February 8, 1962, grew up in East Boston, Massachusetts, and began playing guitar as a child. By his teenage years, Risti had switched to electric bass as his principle instrument, and fell in with the Boston music scene. His command of the bass, both on stage and in the recording studio, soon caught the attention of local legends such as Joe Stump, who invited Risti into the studio to record bass tracks on many of his albums.[3]CareerRisti's professional career began when the band Jet Screamer landed its first paid gig in 1982, and went on to open for Bon Jovi at the Paradise Rock Club in Boston, Ma. on March 15, 1984.[4] Formed Street Kid with his brother Rick Risti in 1985, and the band was a regular opening act for Charlie Farren's band Farrenheit from 1988 through 1992. In the Spring of 1991, Eddie Money flew from Los Angeles to Worcester for a benefit concert at the Worcester Centrum. Rather than use his own band, he recruited local musicians for show, including Risti on bass. Eddie Money kept Risti on for other dates in Massachusetts, including one in Mansfield, Ma. at Great Woods.[5] Works
